Perry-Tech has created a new and innovative training program designed to bridge the gap between High School, colleges, technical schools, and the working world. This training program will also create a method of transition for people who want to change career path because of the ever changing job market. This training program will focus on the Engineering, Architectural, Construction, Facility Maintenance, Property management & technical sales areas and the interface between these disciplines.
For recent college & technical school graduates this program will provide what is commonly referred to as “last mile training” which is necessary for college & technical school graduates to have in order to be productive the first day of employment and also most employers require them to have these skills but are unwilling to provide the necessary training. This training program also provides a pathway for individuals who currently are working in one of the above mentions fields and want to transition to one of the other fields or obtain more skills to be more effective in their current technical roles. We will introduce several engineering design programs which includes Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks and DOE eQuest energy analysis program. We will show how the integration of these programs can produce an optimize sustainable design. We will use Engineering projects that have already been designed, optimized and installed as training examples along with the above mentioned programs to teach the typical skills and knowledge necessary to be productive your first day on the job in the Engineering , Architectural, Construction and Technical Sales fields.
We will use Autodesk Revit Engineering Design software to be the base program for our A&E design lessons. This program is used in Engineering, Architectural, Construction, Facility Maintenance, Property management & Technical Sales to produce Engineering CAD drawings, provide design calculations, produce Revit Families for Technical Sales, Produce Building Information Models (BIMS) for Facility Maintenance & Property Managers. The Figure above shows a typical building scene produced from using Revit.
For our Mechanical design lessons we will use Solidworks & Autodesk Inventor to create components that can be 3d printed or produced on CNC Machine tools.
Some of the topics we will cover are listed below
-Commercial & Residential Design and how to construct models.
-Schedules and how They can be used to create detail cost estimates & accurate procurement of equipment
-Colors scheme features and how they can be used to represent certain aspects such as airflow or lighting levels
-Revit families, how to create them, and how to integrate multiple design disciplines inside them to create a coordinated design
-Creating Renderings
-International & Government Building Codes
-HVAC & Electrical load Calcs with Revit
-Energy Calcs with DOE eQUEST
